Waves crashing on rocky islands just off the coast is THE HEADLANDS. You can almost feel the spray on your face, the ocean breeze and salty scent when you look at this painting. The arch is formed by the constant movement of the sea against the base of the island which has separated from the coast. By studying this painting you can take yourself on an instant vacation.
This is one of my favorite places to visit and my husband and I would spend our anniversary nearby in one of the bed and breakfasts and later take walks along the ocean. It was a refreshing and fulfilling time. I hope my art lovers can enjoy the exhilaration of this painting.
